Nexon's next Korean tournament will be distributed with total of $214,080

Nexon Sponsorship League is Nexon's second stab at building up Dota 2 community in Korea. This time, a huge prize pool amounting to $214,080 for six months is sure to turn heads.

After a successful run with Nexon Starter League, Nexon and GOMTV is at it once again and this time, they will be hosting the Nexon Sponsorship League, a six months long Korean league that aims to highlight more Korean teams and help them secure sponsorship.

The league will be separated into three seasons and it will take two months for each season to run. The first season will feature 100 Mio. Won ($89,200), followed by 80 Mio. Won ($71,360) and 60 Mio. Won ($53,520) for the third season. The winner of each season will also receive an overseas travel, lodging and their equipments paid followed by assistance to secure sponsor. The winner of each season are not allowed to participate in the next.

The tournament will have 16 teams where they will play in a groupstage. The top two teams of each group will move on to the single elimination RO8 and subsequently a double elimination semi-finals.

Specific schedule for the tournament is unknown but judging from the duration of the tournament, it seems that GOMTV is intending to stream every single game. No English casters for the tournament have been confirmed.

International teams are welcomed to participate in the tournament as long as they meet the proper requirements (most probably two months long stay in Korea).

We are currently awaiting more information from Nexon regarding the tournament. So far, we know FXOpen and Xenics (formerly known as E'oT) will be participating in the tournament.
